Arjo strengthens its positions in diagnostics and rentals through two European acquisitions

The medical technology company Arjo has signed agreements to acquire the French company Tech Med, one of the Group's existing distributors within diagnostics, and the German company GerroMed, provider of rental solutions focused on pressure injury prevention.

"With two smaller acquisitions like these, we take our first steps towards a more active acquisition agenda and further strengthen our market positions in both Germany and France, while benefitting from positive synergies going forward," says Joacim Lindoff, CEO and President of Arjo.

Tech Med is a French distributor of diagnostic solutions that Arjo has had a well-functioning collaboration with during more than 20 years. Tech Med serves customers all over France and had a turnover of approximately SEK 25 million in 2023.

"France is currently our largest distribution market in diagnostics, with great potential for further growth moving forward. Adding Tech Med to our business gives us the opportunity to expand our market presence further," says Gang Zhang, Managing Director of Arjo's global diagnostics business.

The closing of the acquisition of Tech Med is subject to customary approvals from authorities which are expected during the fourth quarter of 2024.

In addition, Arjo has acquired GerroMed, a German rental company specializing in pressure injury prevention. The acquisition strengthens Arjo's positions within rental in Germany and is expected to contribute with positive synergies moving forward. GerroMed's turnover amounted to approximately SEK 30 million in 2023.

"We have a strong rental business in Germany and see a positive trend that is expected to continue. Through the acquisition of GerroMed, we increase our customer base while being able to run an even more efficient rental business in the German market," says Andreas Aerni, Managing Director for Arjo in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

The acquisitions are expected to contribute to positive synergies from 2025 onwards but are not expected to have any significant impact on the group's financial development and earnings per share in 2024. The purchase price amounts to approximately SEK 70 million for both companies combined. Both companies will be integrated into Arjo's existing operations starting in 2024.
