AirPal disposable sling mattress

With the AirPal disposable sling mattress, you can transfer patients from one surface to another and reposition within the bed safely, comfortably and efficiently. The AirPal® disposable sling mattress combines two products into one for in bed repositioning tasks and lateral transfers.

The AirPal disposable sling mattress can be inflated with an air supply and used as a regular air assisted transfer mattress, and when deflated it can be used as a repositioning sling in combination with ceiling or floor lifts. The product can remain under the patient allowing a seamless transition between air assisted transfers and lift assisted transfers and the same product can be used across the hospital regardless of the availability of patient lifts. Combining air assisted and lift assisted transfer in one product can improve care efficiency, reduce costs and promote patient comfort.
- Safely
Air Assisted Lateral Transfer devices significantly reduce both biomechanical demands and injury risk. The use of mechanical lifts with a sling reduces the back-compressive forces on nursing personnel by an estimated 60%.
- Comfortably
When used for air assisted transfer, cushioning the patient on a bed of air can help keep discomfort to a minimum. When used as a sling, it provides a safe and dignified transfer. Sling transfers increase the patient's perceptions of comfort and security, as compared with being manually lifted.

In most cases, AirPal disposable sling mattress requires only one or two caregivers to safely perform a transfer. And, because it can be left under the patient, this saves time if another transfer is necessary. The ability to transition easily between air assisted and lift assisted functions, makes AirPal disposable sling mattress an efficient solution for patient transfers throughout their care pathway.
The AirPal disposable sling mattress reduces the risk of cross contamination and can easily be disposed of if soiled, damaged or suspected of being contaminated.
It does not need to be sent away for laundry; so there’s no need to worry about lost or damaged products. The product should be used together with Arjo lift devices and spreader bars in accordance with the allowed combinations specified in the Instruction for Use.

STORAGE POCKETS
Four storage pockets for the straps when used inflated for air assisted transfer and to store the safety belts when used deflated with a patient lift.
COMPATIBLE AID
Radiolucent and MRI compatible AirPal transfer mattress and extended hose, makes it useful during diagnostic procedures.
STRAPS
Straps with loops (4 on each side) with colour codes and air mattress pull handle.
SAFETY BELTS
Two safety belts to secure the patient during inflation and air assisted transfer.
HOSE ATTACHMENT
Two hose attachment points with snap buttons in the foot end corners of the mattress.

When used as a repositioning sling, always follow the lowest SWL of the total system.
