“The Arjo people here are family rather than colleagues”

In the early 2000s, Michael Kipritidis, who worked as a rental technician at Arjo at the time, made an ambitious career move. Keen to get into the Australian sales team, he went back to the university full time for three years to get a bachelor’s degree in health science.

For Michael, who played a lot of football in his youth and also had experience as a personal trainer, it felt like a natural transition to become more involved in the importance and benefits of mobility.

“My entire life has been about sports and training, and mobility is about quality of life, no matter if you are an elite athlete or if you fight to regain it after an accident or illness,” he says.

“Fascinated by the passion within the organization, I wanted to get closer to our customers and patients. I had no clinical background, so I decided to get a degree that qualified me for the job. It is one of the best decisions of my life,” Michael continues.

He returned to Arjo the same day as he graduated in 2010. Since then, Michael has enjoyed a number of roles in the company, leading up to his present position as Product Manager for Pressure Injury Prevention and Medical Beds.

“Moving into sales gave me the opportunity to see another side of the business and what we do to empower movement. After almost 20 years here, I am still Impressed by how everyone radiate passion for every part of the work. This is much more than a job, and the people I work with are family rather than colleagues. Some of them have become lifelong friends. I can’t imagine a workday without that comradery,” Michael says.

“When I feel a bit worn out, I just think about all the positive outcomes I have witnessed over the years. The professional pride of the caregivers, the awakening joy of the struggling patients. That’s all it takes to charge my batteries again.”
