VTE prevention evidence: Download brochure

Preventing the preventable with IPC

Intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC) is a well established and widely used form of mechanical prophylaxis delivering active compression in the prevention of VTE. As a therapy with a convincing evidence base and few side effects, IPC is indicated for use across a wide range of hospitalised patients at risk of VTE.

Based on clinical evidence, today’s guidelines recommend intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC) either as an effective standalone modality, for patients at high risk of bleeding, or as a combined therapy with pharma for patients at high risk of VTE.

Key clinical evidence supporting the use of IPC

This clinical resource provides examples of some of the key evidence supporting the use of IPC and specifically the Flowtron Active Compression System as part of a VTE prevention protocol.
