During the 2000s, a number of strategic acquisitions further strengthened Arjo’s offerings in hygiene and patient handling – the acquisition of Canadian BHM Medical in 2004, which resulted in the launch of the Maxi Sky ceiling lift among other innovative products.

In 2007, Getinge Group made another significant acquisition – that of British company Huntleigh Technology PLC – and combined it with Arjo to create the ArjoHuntleigh brand.

Huntleigh was founded in 1983, and was listed on the London Stock Exchange two years later. Its first groundbreaking product was the Nimbus Dynamic Flotation System mattress, which remains a part of Arjo's product offerings to this day. Huntleigh was a trusted manufacturer of specialized mattresses for the treatment of pressure injuries, beds for intensive care, specialist care and nursing homes, products for the prevention of venous thromboembolisms, and equipment for fetal and vascular diagnostics – and was a market leader in several of its product categories. At the time of the acquisition by Getinge, Huntleigh had over 2,600 employees and a sales reach of 120 countries.

The merger of Arjo and Huntleigh created a globally leading player with a comprehensive portfolio, with combined net sales of approximately SEK 6 billion and more than 4,400 employees around the world.

Through strategic acquisitions, ArjoHuntleigh continued to expand. In 2012, it acquired Chinese bed manufacturer Acare, strengthening its offerings for emerging markets, as well as the TCI (Therapeutic Support Systems) division from KCI, which added to its portfolio of pressure injury prevention.
