Arjo receives highest ESG rating from MSCI

Arjo has received the highest ESG rating – AAA – by Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI), recognizing the company’s strong performance in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices. This marks a significant milestone in Arjo’s commitment to responsible and sustainable business and our dedication to helping shape better and more sustainable healthcare.

“This is a testament to our ongoing efforts to integrate sustainability and effectively manage ESG risks and opportunities across all our operations,” said Niclas Sjöswärd, Interim President & CEO of Arjo. “It is a recognition reflecting the engagement of our global teams in continuously improving our own operations while actively contributing to our customers' sustainability agendas.”

MSCI is a leading provider of in-depth research, ratings, and analysis of ESG-related business practices for the global investment community. The research is designed to provide critical insights that can help institutional investors identify ESG risks and opportunities.

Increased transparency and enhanced reporting

Among the strengths highlighted by MSCI in the assessment were Arjo’s continued actions to enhance transparency, effective management of carbon emissions, strong talent and retention efforts and robust business ethics practice. Throughout 2024 and 2025, Arjo continued to advance its ESG performance by clarifying internal responsibilities and improving reporting procedures. Arjo also made further progress in reducing its climate footprint, expanding business conduct training programs and maintaining high levels of employee satisfaction.

Sustainability at the core of Arjo

Arjo’s sustainability agenda is key to the company’s long-term success and is continuously integrated into all operations. The Group explores opportunities to further strengthen its competitiveness through the development of more circular products, solutions and business models.

Key sustainability initiatives at Arjo include:

  • Advancing circularity in healthcare through reprocessing (reuse) of medical devices. In 2024, 4,2 million medical devices were reprocessed by Arjo ReNu – reducing healthcare emissions by 197 tons.
  • EcoDesign principles in all product development – enhancing resource use, energy consumption, material selection and waste generation.
  • Reducing climate footprint – optimizing use of materials, packaging and transportation throughout the value chain.
  • Transforming to renewable energy – using 100% renewable electricity at facilities and transitioning to electric vehicles.
  • Ensuring responsible business conduct – continued implementation of business conduct training programs throughout the organization.
