Dr. Bryant is a PhD prepared Nurse Scientist and since 2015 has been employed as the Clinical Nurse Scientist in two different clinical settings. As the Nurse Scientist, she would oversee evidence based practiced and DNP student projects, design and conduct nursing research, seek grant funding, and promote staff nurse participation in research. Her areas of research included patient safety, patient outcomes with hospital acquired pressure injuries, subepidermal moisture, hospital acquired harm (such as deconditioning and hospital acquired pneumonia), patient engagement, the experience of the critically ill pregnant women, and healthcare worker experience with Covid-19 pandemic.Dr. Bryant’s career spans over 30 years as a board-certified Wound, Ostomy, Continence (WOC) Nurse, the Director of two WOC Nursing Education Programs and the co-creator of the first web-based WOC nursing education program: the webWOC Nursing Education Program. She is the Past-President of the AAWC and the WOCN Society. In addition to her numerous publications, she is also the founding editor and the co-editor of “Acute and Chronic Wounds: Current Management Techniques”, now available in the 6th edition.Currently Dr. Bryant is the Nurse Scientist at an integrated healthcare system covering Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota: Essentia Health and the owner of Bryant WOC Consulting.
