Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Arjo’s continued product innovations helped establish the company as a pioneer in the global market, and a trusted expert in improving care and quality of life for people with reduced mobility and age-related conditions.

Among other breakthroughs, Arjo launched the first adjustable bathtub in 1972, and in 1989, introduced the first generation SARA (Standing and Raising Aids) as well as the Maxi Move. This momentum continued in the 1990s with innovations in hygiene and patient handling systems, including the launch of Carendo, an adjustable height shower chair, among other breakthroughs. Further broadening its offerings, Arjo also acquired GTTi in the US, Pegasus in Britain, and Belgian company Medibo.
