Carl

Carl needs assistance to perform daily activities
Carl is seen sitting in his wheelchair, he has one hand on the rim of one of the wheels to show that he is still mobile enough to be able to control his wheelchair, as well as enough static sitting balance to be able to sit upright in his wheelchair without the need for a lateral or head support. Carl is able to place one foot on the ground and the other on the wheelchairs plate showing that he is able to partially bear weight.

  • Often sits in a wheelchair and has some trunk stability
  • Dependent on caregiver in most situations
  • His orange jersey shows that he represents medium risk of static and dynamic overload to caregivers when not using proper equipment
  • Stimulation of functional mobility for Carl is very important

Empowering Movement

The mobility gallery plays a key role in empowering movement in both acute and long-term care, by enabling an assessment of an individual’s level of mobility, and how this will impact the quality of care.
