ArjoHuntleigh continues to focus on developing solutions for a safe and dignified care of bariatric patients. During 2008, we have launched a full range of patient handling and personal hygiene equipment especially designed for this category of patients. We are also continuously trying to increase our knowledge in this area; not only to supply the best equipment on the market, but also to be able to give solid, professional advice to our customers.

One example of these efforts is the bariatric workshop that was organised in Germany at the end of November 2008. The workshop was run by the leading international expert Marylou Muir from Canada with representatives from eleven ArjoHuntleigh sales companies.

The workshop contained hands-on training and lectures on bariatric patient assessment; medical conditions that affect patient handling tasks; and how to design a working environment for safe bariatric care.

More workshops will take place in 2009 to further raise the awareness of the challenges and solutions in the care of bariatric patients.
